SOUND DESIGN, by Thomas Williams
The music for Dawn/s consists of a combination of acoustic instrumental and artificial synthetic sounds worlds. I hope to create a soundtrack that highlights the process of a transformation as well as building tension and expressing the emotions of the individual experiencing this process. It is important to me that the dance and the music work in harmony, as well as harmonising with the changing sounds of the world around.
About Thomas
Originally from Wales, Thomas is a sound artist whose work covers various multi-media disciplines. Thomas has composed for theatre productions, film and television, as well as creating his own work, composing and creating interactive media, using technology to build a story and evoke a moment.
While studying Contemporary Music Technology at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, he discovered a passion for interactive media. “The combination of music and interactive technology presents endless possibilities for communicating an idea. It is this communication that I find fundamentally important when presenting a piece. I hope to create a musical world that is not dictated by time or form, but instead through exploration and curiosity. Being able to invite an audience into a space that changes around them, as they interact, is something that motivates my work.” |
